Legend of Zelda: Sages of Evil Part 2 By Susanne - SheikahWarrior@hotmail.com Chapter one Saria helped Ruto on her feet. The princess was dirty and tired, but she managed to walk around to recover her strenght. Link made a wry face. He didn't feel well. "A Sage of Evil?" Sheik answered. "She has the same powers as me and Ruto, but she uses them to destroy and attack, not to build and protect," Saria said. "And there are five more Sages like her, but they aren't here. They have their own places." "You mean there are five other places around Hyrule that we didn't knew exist?" Link asked. "How come they've never visited us before?" "They live in the dark side of the world. We live in the light side, and we're not meant to know eachother. But now, they're planning to destroy Hyrule so the dark world will rule - forever." "We have to get rid of the evil Sages," Saria said. "We Sages must face eachother. Otherwise, Hyrule will be destroyed." "But I can't let you and Ruto meet this Sage alone!" Link shouted. "Maybe she's too strong for you! What if she kills you?" "Link," Saria said, "I'll die for Hyrule if it's necessary." "But..." The Kokiri girl put her hand over his mouth. "Don't talk, Link. I know what I have to do, and you can't stop me." He looked at her and tried to smile, but instead, a tear fell from his eye. "But I don't want to lose you, Saria. You're my best friend...and...and..." "What, Link?" she asked. He walked away from her and faced the wall. He didn't want Saria to fight the Sage of Evil. He didn't want to lose her in the battle. He didn't want to return to the Kokiri Forest without her. If she died, he'd have nothing to live for. "Saria..."he whispered. "If you're going to fight that Sage, I'm going with you." "I can't let you do that, Link." Link didn't say anything. Instead, he took Saria's chains in one hand and struck them with his sword. The chains fell apart and Saria was free. Link did the same thing to Ruto's chains. "Let's go face the magician," Sheik said. "You girls know the way, don't you?" They went out of the room and stood in the corridor. Saria looked around. After a while, she pointed at something. "Link, do you see that crack in the wall? Blow it open." Link went up to the crack and equipped a bomb. He put it down in front of the wall and took a few steps back. After a short while, the bomb blew up a big hole in the wall. Saria walked towards it. "No, wait!" Link said. "Let me go first." He stepped in front of Saria. They entered the enormous room, which was lit up with purple fire. Link took a step forward. "This room is evil. " He turned to the others. "I bet we can find that magician in here." "You don't know how right you are, young man," a voice said behind them. Quickly, they all turned around. A beautiful young woman, dressed in black, stood there. She smiled, and looked at Link and Sheik. "You saved them from the prison, but..." An evil grin took form in her face. "You'll never escape from here. I've already gathered the Sages, and together, we'll destroy you all." Chapter two "You're lying," Ruto said. "The other Sages aren't here. You're all alone in this slimy hole of a dungeon! You can't beat us, Agariah!" "Really?" The magician raised her fingers and sent a flash of lightning at the princess. Ruto held up her hand, and it vanished into thin air. Agariah laughed. "You're brave, princess," she said. "But you can't beat me. I'm far more experienced than you can imagine." She threw another flash of lightning at Ruto, but this time with more power. Ruto was still weak, and didn't have the strenght to reflect it. It hit her, and she fell on her knees. "No!" Saria said. "Leave her alone. This is between you and me, Agariah!" "You're just a little girl," the magician snorted. "What can you do?" "Anything, if it'll save my friends." "Saria, no!" Link cried. The forest girl turned to him. She smiled, but Link saw she was crying. "Link, I won't let you get hurt. Escape from here and gather the other Sages. That's our only hope." "I won't leave you." He turned to the magician. "Agariah, fight me instead." The young woman laughed. "You certainly have courage, young man." Her eyes turned black, and a black cloud formed above her. "But your courage will die. You'll beg for mercy." She sent a black flash of lighting Link's way. He reflected it with his Mirror Shield and returned it to her. Agariah waved her hand, and the black light faded away. Link took a few steps forward. "I won't let you touch Saria," he said. "You'll see. She's mine - after you've sworn me loyalty." "Over my dead body," Link said. "As you wish." The magician gathered strength from the black cloud and attacked him with an energy ball. He held up his shield, but it went right through it and hit him in the chest. He got another ball of energy in the stomach, and then one hit him in the head. He fell and hit the floor. "Prepare to die," Agariah smiled. She grabbed a bow and some arrows out of thin air and aimed at Link. He managed to rise, and one of the arrows hit his shield. The other arrow missed him. She aimed again, and this time, the arrow hit its goal. Link fell down on the floor, unconscious. "No!" Saria cried. "Link!" "Your friend is beyond all help, dear," Agariah said. "I hit him with an Arrow of Darkness. The darkness will find his heart - and he'll die." Saria fell on her knees and took Link's hand. "No," she said. "He won't die. I'll give him my powers." "Saria, you can't!" Sheik said. "If you give him your powers, you'll die yourself!" "But if I don't, there's noone alive to protect the Triforce." "I forbid you, Saria." Sheik walked towards her. "I won't let you do it." "But I love him!" Saria cried. Suddenly, the purple light faded away, and a golden light started to fill the room. They all gasped and took one step back. A voice began to say something. "Listen!" Ruto said. "IN A REALM BEYOND SIGHT, THE SKY SHINES GOLD, NOT BLUE. THERE, THE TRIFORCE MIGHT, MAKES MORTAL DREAMS COME TRUE." The voice became silent for a moment. "It's the Triforce!" Ruto whispered. "SARIA, THE CHOICE IS YOURS. YOU CAN SAVE LINK, OR FIGHT THE EVIL AGARIAH. YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHOICE." "I can't do this," Saria said, with tears falling from her eyes. "JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART, SARIA." "But if I choose to save Link, will Hyrule be destroyed?" "YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HYRULE'S FATE, SARIA," the voice said. "JUST MAKE YOUR DECISION ABOUT LINK. WILL HE LIVE - OR WILL HE DIE?" "Let him live," Saria whispered, crying. "I don't know what will happen, but let him live." "STAND UP, LINK," the voice said. "YOU MUST FIGHT FOR HYRULE'S FREEDOM. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE THE LAND." Link sat up, very slowly. He looked around and saw the golden cloud. "Triforce," he whispered, "what am I going to do?" The cloud disappeared. Chapter three Agariah looked at the four people standing in front of her. The one she thought was dead stood just a few steps away, and he was holding the legendary Master Sword. "This time I will be armed, Agariah," he said, holding the sword with one hand and the Mirror Shield in the other. "And this time, I won't fail." "You know the secret of the Triforce!" Agariah hissed. "Give it to me!" Link smiled. "Come and get it." He made a jump attack with his sword, but Agariah jumped out of his way. He turned quickly and raised his shield. She fired a bolt at him, but he destroyed it with the shield. Another bolt came from her fingertip, but he sliced it with his sword. "I think you shoot your bolts, Agariah," Link laughed. The magician screamed with anger and created a purple firecreature. It attacked Link, but he used his sword to defend himself. Then the creature attacked Saria and Ruto. Sheik took out the Megaton Hammer and smashed it to dust. A dark cloud formed around Agariah, and she used it as a shield when Link attacked her. "You can't kill me, Link!" she grinned. "I'm too strong for you, pitiful elf!" "But you still don't have the Triforce of Courage, have you?" Link answered. He took out the Biggoron's Sword. "Now let's see how you like this!" He slashed the cloud with his sword, and it faded away. "No!" Agariah cried. "How dare you!" "Now, you'll die!" Link said. He concentrated and prepared to use Din's Fire to burn the evil magician. He released the Fairy spell and it reached Agariah. "You can't use magic...in...my...castle..." she groaned with pain. "Only I...can use magic...here..." She fell to the floor. Link runned forward and used the Biggoron's Sword to make a jump attack. He hit Agariah and she screamed. "I won't forget this...Link..." she whispered. "The next time we meet...you will die." Then she disappeared. Link, Sheik, Saria and Ruto watched her fade away. "Is she dead?" Link asked. Saria answered him. "Yes, Link. But the other Sages will find a new Sage of Evil, and then they'll come back again." "Well, it won't happen now, right?" "No - maybe in three hundred years or something like that," Saria smiled. "But I don't think we'll have to worry about them for a while." " I can use some vacation," Link sighed. "Do you know how hard it is to be hero?" Epilogue They were all back in Hyrule again. Saria returned to the Kokiri Forest, Sheik went to visit Kakariko Village and Ruto got back to Zora's Domain to see her father. Suddenly, Link was left alone. Since he didn't know what to do, he decided to take some vacation. The End
