Nightmare of Destruction - By ElMagnifico@webtv.net (Mark Barton) The Entry Link snapped out of sleep and shrugged off his linen sheets. The dream had been somewhat odd. First, a foreign entity had entered his body. Then, it had sent him on a rampage of destruction. Link wiped his forehead. He was not one to have such dreams without reason. His first dream had revealed to him the true intentions of Ganondorf. He moved over to his small closet and removed the green Kokori tunic which had accompanied him through his entire adventure. Link placed it over his shoulders and moved to the door that led to the outside castle corridor. It was locked from the outside. He turned towards a slight noise behind him. Before Link was a shapless dark blur. The strange creature stuned him entirely and then flew straight at him. Link was preparing for the impact when he felt a strange sensation. It was as if he had entirely absorbed the creature. He was given no time to contemplate the feeling as he lost all contact with the actual world. Dreaming Link stood and viewed the land around him. It was Hyrule Field. It was nightime, but no stalchilds were attacking him. He looked to his side to see Epona grazing cheerfully. Link turned his head towards Hyrule Castle. The drawbridge was wide open and people were laughing and singing in the market. He quickly mounted his horse and road towards the castle grounds. Link entered the market. It seemed a joyous occasion. Perhaps there was a holiday nobody had informed him of, but there was no way of explaining the absense of monsters in Hyrule Field. Link headed towards the center of the market were a bonfire was being held. In the bonfire, there were three stones, six medalions, a sword, and a golden triangle with a smaller triangular hole in the middle. He stepped back and gasped. The townspeople turned to Link and each was a horrific monster. He cried out and ran to Epona. She had become a snarling black stalion with the dark outline of a pig creature upon her back. Link scaled the drawbridge as it began to close, and landed in the castle moat. A large fish creature snapped at him. He reached for his sword. It wasn't there. It had been burnt along with all the other sacred artifacts of Hyrule. Link pulled himself out of the moat and onto the land. This was hardly an improvement. Giant skeletons were roaming the land. He was able to make his way to Kokori Forest. Nothing was left. Link entered the Lost Woods in search of answers. He wandered about through the maze of gigantic logs filled with moblins and wolfos. Link had to dodge these monsters as he had no weapons. Finally, he found a shrine of sorts. Inside the shrine was an alter with a single sword sticking from the center. Link grabbed the sword and was hurtled against a wall. Navie came from his pack and spoke up. "This is the Light Sword of Radiance. You must posses a pair of golden gloves to wield it." Link left the forest and headed back to the castle. It was daytime, but the drawbridge was closed. He wandered around the castle until night when the drawbridge opened. There were no villagers or monsters in the market. All the doors were tightly sealed. Ganon's castle had returned, but the ground around it had remained intact.. Link found a small hole in the side of the castle and crawled through. He was in the prison dungeon. The cells were filled with townspeople and castle attendants. Link noticed a young woman wearing a regal gown in one cell. It was Zelda. The Golden Gloves of Arcore Link approached Zelda filled with rage for her capture, and thankfullness that she was alive. "Zelda", he whispered. "Link?" she said, slowly turning. "They had a fire. Burnt all the sacred artifacts. He it told me you were dead." "I'm alive Zelda. And I'm going to get you out of here." "No!" cried Zelda. "I must stay here. The guards check my cell regularly. You must get the Golden Gloves of Arcore. Then, retrieve the Light Sword of Radiance to defeat it." "What is It?" inquired Link. "I don't know. Whatever it is, it is definetly pure evil You must enter a dungeon under this castle to find the Golden Gloves. The entrance is somwhere on the East side of the castle. Good luck Link. Please go quickly." Link exited the prison just before a guard rounded the corner. He searched on the East side for any holes, but only found a strange eye statue. Link turned to see a skeleton creature aproaching. He picked up a nearby rock and threw it at the creature's head. The skeleton fell over and dropped it's sword. Link quickly grabbed the sword and skewered the skeleton. He then stabbed the eye statue in a small slit in the middle of the stone pupil. A previously unseen doorway opened and Link crawled through. He stood to see himself in an underground dungeon. Link fought his way through the dungeon's enemy's and puzzles with only the flimsy skeleton sword. At the end, he found himself face to face with a giant floating eye that closely resembled the outside statue. Link slashed at the creature and dodged when it shot fire from it's eye. He rolled underneath it and stabbed upwards. The giant eye screamed in fury and smashed against the wall, creating a ball of fire so birght, Link had to sheild his eyes. A circle of light appeared in the middle of the room and left a large chest. Link pulled up the lid and retreived the Golden Gloves of Arcore. Link entered the shining blue light that took him back out of the dungeon and headed to the Lost Woods. The Light Sword of Radiance Link was able to battle the giant skeletons, wolfos, and Moblins with his sword, but it was very weak and inaccurate. He made it to the temple and placed his hands over the alter. Golden lightning crackled from the sword, but stopped at the gloves. Link removed the Light Sword of Radiance with one hard pull and discarded the skeleton sword. He was now able to behead the evil monsters with one swift stroke. Link easily made his way to the castle and waited for nightime. When the drawbridge came down, he entered the market and went inside of Ganon's castle. Link was releived to find no barriers guarding the center column. He made his way to the top most tower to face the evil entity. When Link found the creature, it had just finished killing Zelda. He screamed in rage and attacked the entity. Link stabbed the creature and it gave a wail of frustration. The whole castle began to collaspe around Link. He ran around looking for a way out. Then, he awoke. Restoration Linked opened his real eyes once again to find himself with a sword pointed a Zelda's throut. He stepped back and dropped the sword. "Link" mumbled Zelda weakly. "Why are you doing this?" All Link could do was stare in shock at the ruined room. His dream had come true. A dark black mass formed over Zelda's head and began to crackle with energy. Link hurled his boomerang at the creature. He was amazed to see it consume and take the form of the boomerang. When the boomerang-shaped entity returned to him, Link hacked it in two pieces and watched as they both dried and dissapeared into nothing. He ran to Zelda and kneeled by her side. "What was that?" she muttered. "I don't know," replied Link "but its gone now."
