Judge in trouble for joke email

Missoulian Article

Why is a judge not allowed to forward a funny email like the rest of us do?

For those not smart enough to understand my point, let’s consider what the article says of the joke:

“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.”

This is standard for many forwarded mails.

“A little boy said to his mother, ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?’ His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!’”

Not sure how these parts relate to each other, but whatever, people aree stupid.

We can do a find and replace on the string ‘Barack’ with any other person who meets the conditions of the joke and the joke would still be the same. Either we find it funny or we don’t. For the record, I think it’s kinda meh.

Now let’s examine one of the judge’s thoughts on the matter:

“To say it’s inappropriate and stupid is an extreme understatement,” Cebull said.

I call BS for HR reasons. Why must everyone get so butt-hurt over a stupid joke? Should everybody who ever sent a non work related or joke email get fired or resign? How many people would be working after that? Two?

Now go have a look at the comments and see people argue about whether or not the judge should keep his job.

Some questions:
1. How was this made public?
2. Why was this made public?
3. Why was this news?

On a lighter note, I think this joke is also funny. 🙂

Q: What’s brown & sticky?
A: a stick.

Boycott Lowes

They are making it a requirement to fax permission for websites to link back to http://www.lowes.com or use linkable images back to http://www.lowes.com. Example:

If I wanted to link to http://www.lowes.com on http://www.lunaz.com, I would need to fill out & fax a form to their lawyers.

For obvious reasons this is bad and I will now link to http://www.lowes.com on my front page in a funny and creative way. Here is the relevant news article and comments.

Thank you to some guy in the comments page who provided me the PileOPoo image used in this post.

Thank you google image search for providing the logo for http://www.lowes.com so I don’t have to bother going to http://www.lowes.com to snag it myself.

Doing My Small Part

Head on over to Wikipedia and give it your zip code to contact your local politicians and let them know how much SOPA and PIPA suck!

Fuck you Nintendo

So I want to sell my Wii that has been gathering dust for a long time. I thought those few wii+games fsVirtual Console games would add to its sell value and bring enjoyment of classics to some kid who doesn’t know what ‘Zelda II’ is.

Nope, rather than buyer & seller benefiting from this, I risk my personal or financial information that is tied to this device through the Shop account. If I delete this account, the games go too. If I do not delete the Shop account, the next user can see all my receipts in the shop account. These things are nobody’s business but mine and Nintendo’s.

wii+games fsSince I don’t want such information being made ‘public’ I deleted the shop account and formatted the memory. I will only buy games/movies/music on disk unless it’s a streaming service; since there I know I’m ‘renting’. No iTunes for me! I recommend everyone do the same whenever possible.

So who wants to buy my Wii?
